1. Jiu-Jitsu is an excellent way to get in the best shape of your life

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art that provides a unique combination of physical fitness and mental engagement.  Working out at the gym can get boring, but when you train BJJ, you develop functional strength and fitness, and get the challenge of learning and performing the most effective moves for every situation.  Many compare jiu-jitsu to the game of chess, because of the level of strategy involved.  And all the while, you’ll be learning to defend yourself in the process!

2. Joining MBJJ is like becoming part of our family

We believe that in order for ourselves to improve, we must help others to improve.  The philosophy of helping others dictates how our instructors and more advanced students are excited to support and help new students.  This creates an environment that is welcoming to all, and fosters learning for everyone!

3. McMahon BJJ classes are designed to maximize learning and enjoyment

MBJJ has a class structure specifically designed to maximize the results you’ll achieve, and the fun you’ll have!  All classes run on time and follow a very specific structure, and the curriculum is standardized and written based on years of experience.  Our instructors are passionate about what they do, and add their own personal perspective to each class.  When you come to class, you can feel comfortable knowing you’re in good hands!

4. Becoming part of our team is life-changing

Being part of the MBJJ team not only means you take classes, it also means you become part of a bigger community of people who share the same ideals.  Training BJJ requires a healthy lifestyle and a positive attitude, and when you join you will be surrounded by people with similar goals and standards for their lives.  We also have events, seminars, special training sessions and other events that make our community a close one.

5. BJJ skills are useful on and off the mat

Jigoro Kano, the founder of Judo, said, “We don’t improve ourselves in order to fight.  We fight in order to improve ourselves.”  The mental and physical discipline required to train BJJ can apply to life off the mats, as well.  Mastering the principles of fighting can also help you reach your goals and find balance in all areas of your life.

6. You can train all over Colorado

There are 6 Easton team schools in Colorado. When you join McMahon BJJ you are free to train at any location while traveling.

7. McMahon BJJ is a safe and welcoming place for all

One of the things we are most proud of is that we welcome all ages, levels and abilities. McMahon BJJ is proud to be a Fort Collins martial arts academy that develops world class competitors and fighters, while still maintaining a training environment that is welcoming for the whole family, whether you are a college student or a parent looking for an activity the whole family can enjoy.

8. The MBJJ academy is clean and properly maintained

We know a clean environment is very important to the comfort of our students, so our academy is cleaned regularly.  The mats, especially, are cleaned and disinfected daily, and all uniforms are washed regularly.

9. We work hard to maintain a safe environment

All our sessions are supervised by experienced instructors, and student safety is our instructor’s primary goal.

10. Training at MBJJ connects you to the roots of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

McMahon BJJ is part of the Amal Easton/Renzo Gracie Team. Our team of instructors was trained in the teaching philosophy and methods of Renzo Gracie and the Gracie family.  Training with us allows you to connect to the history of the art, while being part of making BJJ great for the future!
