10 Reasons to Join Our Academy
10 REASONS TO JOIN OUR ACADEMY
- Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and Muay Thai (MT) kickboxing are among the most popular martial arts in the world.
Because of their popularity, you see schools popping up everywhere that are run by instructors with little teaching experience. The McMahon Training Center (MTC) was founded in 2006 and has been in business for more than 12 years. This has given us lots of time to develop our curriculum and systems in order to deliver the most value to our students. The owner and head instructor, Professor Finnie McMahon, is a 3rd degree BJJ Black Belt with 18 years of teaching experience. Come see for yourself the difference this makes.
- Our kids’ and adults’ Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu programs are taught by 9 BJJ black belts.
This means that you and/or your child will be learning from experienced instructors with years of teaching experience. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art that can teach you how to choke someone or break someone’s arm in a self-defense situation. You want to be learning these techniques, or have your kids learn these techniques from instructors who know what they’re doing.
- Our Kickboxing and Muay Thai programs are the most organized and developed in the Fort Collins area.
We offer 16 classes per week to choose from, and four different levels of classes: Kickboxing, Muay Thai Fundamentals, Muay Thai intermediate/advanced, and Muay Thai competition training. This helps students to see a clear path to progress and provides different challenges for all students. We are also affiliated with the Easton Muay Thai team, which gives you access to some of the best Muay Thai knowledge in the state of Colorado.
- We have one of the best martial arts locations in Fort Collins.
We are conveniently located right next to Whole Foods at 2111 South College Ave. unit G. This means that we are a quick drive from all parts of Fort Collins. Better yet, the Max Bus Spring Creek Station stop is right in front of our west door. This means that if you’re a CSU student we’re just a quick bus ride south of you and you only have to walk 100 feet to our door.
- At McMahon Training Center we strive to create an inclusive culture.
We believe that anyone regardless of age, size, or ethnicity can earn a black belt in the martial arts if they believe in their own potential as much as we do. We know that in order for ourselves to improve, we must first help others to improve. The philosophy of helping others dictates why our instructors and more advanced students are excited to support and help new students. This creates an environment that is welcoming to all and fosters learning for everyone!
- BJJ and Muay Thai Kickboxing are an excellent way to get in the best shape of your life.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai Kickboxing are martial arts that provide a unique combination of physical fitness and mental engagement. Working out at a gym can get boring, but when you train BJJ or MT at our Academy, you not only develop functional strength and fitness, but you also have fun learning practical self-defense skills.
- You can train all over Colorado.
There are 8 Easton team schools in Colorado. When you join McMahon Training Center you can do a free drop-in at any location while traveling and train martial arts outside of Fort Collins.
- McMahon Training Center is a safe and welcoming place for all.
McMahon Training Center is proud to be a Fort Collins martial arts academy that develops world-class competitors, while still maintaining a training environment that is welcoming for the whole family, whether you are a college student or a parent looking for an activity that the whole family can enjoy.
- Our Academy is clean and properly maintained.
We know a clean environment is very important to the comfort of our students, so our academy is cleaned daily. The mats are cleaned and disinfected daily, and all uniforms are washed regularly.
- We work hard to maintain a safe environment.
All our sessions are supervised by experienced instructors, and student safety is our instructor’s top priority.
