Professor Bryn grew up in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. As a child, he was fond of adventure stories, action movies, and cartoons which instilled an interest in many things, notably martial arts and combatives. As a young adult, Bryn was captivated by the emergence and popularization of MMA, eventually taking up studies in Boxing, Wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. After moving to Austin, TX with some childhood friends, Bryn dedicated more time to grappling in the spring of 2015, immersing himself in Austin’s burgeoning combat sports scene. After many competitions, open mats, garage sessions, and secret kumites in the woods, Bryn and his wife moved to Fort Collins in 2021 where he quickly found an adoptive home at McMahon Training Center. Bryn was awarded his black belt in 2023. When he isn’t training, Bryn can be found spending quality time with friends and family, reading, playing music, and talking too loud while watching movies.
