Coach Ryan’s journey into the world of martial arts began in 2020 when he and his sister stumbled upon a Groupon offer for an affordable Muay Thai class at McMahon Training Center. From that very first class, Ryan was hooked on both the Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu programs there. A couple of years later, he took over the role of being the only full-time employee at the Academy, and now also teaches adult Muay Thai classes.

Outside of the Academy, you’ll often catch Ryan out in nature with his dog or getting lost in the beats at an occasional bass music show. One of the most rewarding aspects of his role as a coach is working with students who are gearing up to spar for the first time. He thrives on making the introduction to sparring a fun, comfortable, and easy-going experience for newcomers eager to take their Muay Thai skills to the next level. Coach Ryan currently holds the rank of Blue belt in BJJ and a purple shirt in Muay Thai.
